Hi There,

Have you ever used FusionCharts for Filemaker.

I am using the free version for the marburn folks. Works great locally
but not served. My belief is that it is a file path problem but I am
having trouble tackling it. If you have ever implemented it on a
server any support you have would be amazing.

Thanks
amy

I've never tried this on a served file - there are tons of folks who have though... have you tried their forums (http://www.fusioncharts.com/forum/Group48.aspx)?

Amy,

Remember we did this before?
For anyone else that's wondering It's just permission issue. The
filemaker "Data" folder is not allowing access and I wouldn't
recommend changing that permission (obviously).
What I did is host my chart library somewhere else, could be on the
same machine or even on a machine across the world, as long as you
clarify the path. that's it.

I win (sort of)

So finally I stopped trying on the clients server and posted the Charts directory to fugu's temp location where I know that it is serving properly and using port 80.

So for now I have it working by pointing over there. Obviously I have to come up with a long term solution for them...but at least I know where the problem was.

Just a thought, Charlie has inRes thought of purchasing and just having it as a resource that All you implementations can point to.

Amy,

I'll look into it. At first glance, it looks like the Site license might fit the bill, but I'll have to check with InfoSoft directly.

Hey, I have contacted them earlier today about licensing because I
wanted to deliver the library to users.
You do not need to pay if you are redistributing the free version
library, you just need to comply to four small terms and conditions.
The pro version would be nice though, imagine the possibilities. So
today, we have ported the library in the cloud for everyone! a real
CDN, we will release the url shortly.

Here you go. http://fm-charts.flattoads.com/

Why should you use this hosted library?

1- You don't have to worry about permission issue's to your "Data"
folder on your machine.
2- Runs with no interruptions. If you have several clients accessing
your databases reliability becomes important.
3- It's a CDN! It will deliver with high scalability up to millions
and millions at a time without even budging. we can all ping the
address and see that we are being served from different instances of
the library across the world.
4- Acting as a hosted application programming interface (api) , you
don't have to do anything but point your charts url's to the domain,
we don't have to do anything either :) . It's all in the cloud.
5- It can expend easily to the professional and/or business or
enterprise level if there is a license.

Well, I'm sure I can think of a lot more but Amy can write a how to
for you all later.
Enjoy!
