iCloud Photos keeps your photos and videos safe, up to date, and available automatically on all of your Apple devices, on iCloud.com, and even your PC. When you use iCloud Photos, you don't need to import photos from one iCloud device to another. iCloud Photos always uploads and stores your original, full-resolution photos. You can keep full-resolution originals on each of your devices, or save space with device-optimized versions instead. Either way, you can download your originals whenever you need them. Any organizational changes or edits you make are always kept up to date across all your Apple devices. Learn how to set up and use iCloud Photos.

The photos and videos that you keep in iCloud Photos use your iCloud storage. Before you turn on iCloud Photos, make sure that you have enough space in iCloud to store your entire collection. You can see how much space you need and then upgrade your storage plan if necessary.

Sorry, they are not in albums, nor do I know how to put them in albums. Co I have to go Edit select and delete one by one? it will take me days to delete photos, There must be an easier way. Sorry I am really getting frustrated. I play games and take screen shots on my IPad to ensure I get rewards. I deleted them on my IPad...only to find they've all come back. today I turned off I Cloud...hoping this will solve my Mac computer, IPhone and IPad from continually syncing.

I am trying to get more space on my iPad air (not the cloud). I uploaded all my photos to my PC and I have deleted all of my photos from my camera roll and photo stream. The problem is that under usage, it still says:

Sorry, Charles, but this doesn't work for me (iPad 2). I regularly delete photos from Recently Deleted right after I've deleted them from my Albums, so finding the exact previous time and date during which all those photos were still there (yesterday afternoon) is hit-and-miss and, after changing to several different times of the afternoon, I couldn't find any images at all in Recently Deleted. I know it was yesterday afternoon when I deleted the 2,800+ images from my Photos album, but I can't pinpoint the exact time at which all those files were still in Recently Deleted before I deleted them from there, also.

I had to move the Date on my phone earlier by 1,2,3 months and found the phantom photos in the Recently Deleted Folder. Next, I deleted the photos manually from the Recently Deleted Folder and the usage got freed up from my iPhone.

I did find something that works (in another forum) is to turn on iCloud photos and let it crank through trying to upload the "phantom" photos. that is supposed to trigger some sort of forced reconciliation. The first time I tried it, it took a *long* time pretending to upload hundreds of non-existent photos. Once it completed, Photos reported only using about 1GB (but there were still no Photos in my iCloud). So I turned it off and on again - it went through the long process of trying to upload the photos that don't exist. After the second try it freed up another 600MB and I was down to 400MB held by Photos. I tried a third time and that got me to zero held by Photos. The whole process took over an hour.

PHotos is clearly holding on to some sort of data it thinks still exists but that doesn't actually exist. At no point during this whole process were there ever any pictures anywhere in any of my folders or libraries. Photos was just simply holding space it wasn't using.

You must reset the Date/Time in iPhone Settings -> General -> Date and Time. Turn off Set Automatically and a manual wheel appears to change the date. Do so then do a hard reboot of the phone. You will then see the phantom photos in the Deleted folder in your Photos app. Good luck.

When you set up iCloud, you automatically get 5GB of storage. You can use that space for your iCloud backups, to keep your photos and videos stored in iCloud Photos, to keep your documents up to date in iCloud Drive, and more. You can always check how much iCloud storage you're using in Settings on your device or on iCloud.com. If you're running low, you can manage your storage to make more space or upgrade to iCloud+ any time.

If you're getting low on storage in iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 or later, you can go to Recommended for You in your iCloud settings and check if there are photos, large files, or backups that you might not need anymore and can delete.

You can delete old iCloud backups for the device you're currently using, or older devices you might not use anymore. iCloud backups are available for 180 days after you disable or stop using iCloud Backup. Backups that are currently being used to restore a device can't be deleted.

iCloud Photos uses your iCloud storage to keep all of your photos and videos up to date across your devices. You can make more space in iCloud when you delete photos and videos that you no longer need from the Photos app on any of your devices.

Before you delete anything, make sure that you back up the photos and videos that you still want. When you use iCloud Photos and delete a photo or video on one device, it's also deleted on all other devices where you're signed in with the same Apple ID.

If you are part of an iCloud Shared Photo Library, photos added to the Shared Library only count towards the storage of the person who created the Shared Library. To delete items that count towards your iCloud storage, make sure that you're viewing your Personal Library.

To reduce the size of your Photos backup, save your photos and videos to your computer, then manually back up your device. If you want to keep your photos and videos on your device, you can turn off Photos in Backup or upgrade to iCloud+ for more storage. If there are any photos that you don't want to keep, you can delete them:

You can recover photos and videos that you delete from your Recently Deleted album for 30 days. If you want to remove content from Recently Deleted album faster, tap Select, then select the items you want to remove. Tap Delete > Delete. If you exceed your iCloud storage limit, your device immediately removes any photos and videos you delete and they won't be available for recovery in your Recently Deleted album.

On a PC with iCloud for Windows, you can manage your iCloud Drive files using Windows Explorer. You can pin a file or folder to Windows Explorer, or use these steps to add an iCloud Drive folder to Windows Explorer and delete it from iCloud Drive:

New photos and videos you add to iCloud Photos are shown on your PC automatically. To download the file from iCloud when you view it, double-click its thumbnail. You can also keep your photos downloaded on your PC with these steps:

Hi! It's been years since I stoped using iTunes. I don't have the app anymore and can't find it in app store. But is there anyway to find my old pictures that were synced to iTunes? I've had iPhones since 2009 or 2010 but don't have any photos older than 2014. Would love to find them again!

I'm uploading all of the pictures from my iTunes to Picasa. Afterwards, I would like to delete all of the photos off of the phone, and the local copies stored in iTunes (I need the disk space). I want all of the old ones gone (since they'll be backed up), but I also want it to start syncing all of the new photos that I take from this point forward.

If your photos are backed up to the Cloud, the only way to delete them from your phone is to restore you phone as new and NOT sync your photos. Simply download them to your phone using the same method you would a camera shot. I've been on the phone with Apple techs for a whole day trying to resolve this.

iCloud+ is a premium subscription that provides additional storage to keep your photos, videos, files, and more backed up and automatically available across your devices. It also includes access to features like iCloud Private Relay, Hide My Email, Custom Email Domain, and HomeKit Secure Video support for a private and connected experience.

All the Lightroom mobile files appear on the right side. There are two or three folders, save all of them by dragging them to your Desktop to not miss any files. Your photos might be spread across these folders, they are named .JPG or .DNG.

With your Surface, you can purchase, download, and stream music from iTunes. You can also sync your iOS devices to your Surface using iTunes. To get started, download iTunes from the Microsoft Store.

OneDrive syncs photos and files from your iPhone to your Surface. You need to sign in to your Microsoft account first, but any updates or changes you make in OneDrive will appear on both your devices.

Previously, hidden photos have been hidden only from collection. If i hide photo and add it to special alboom i can sow it by look in this special album. I have two different type of photo, whitch i whant to hide from colection but i like look on it separately. Now, in new iOS 11 this not working. If photo is hidden i can saw it only in hidden folder. It is unusable. And also photo count ih folders count this hiden photos. So i have two empty folders with non zero count of includet photos.

It's impossible to find a photo among the almost 20.000 in my iCloud library without beeing able to see it inside an album. All photos that need to be sorted are seen, while the others, are hidden inside albums! Why would you make photos dissapear from an album Apple?? If i've added then there, it's because I want to see then there!

Apple needs to fix this, the whole point of hidden photos is to hide the ones that you need but don't want to cramp with the Photos (Moments) tab and have it organized and easy to access in separate albums

One thing I love about apple, and has kept me with them for so long, is the facilities to be able to tag documents and general organize my files and photos. This has kept me from moving to apples other rivels as over the last several years I have orginized my 10 of thousands of photos into albums.

I have albums for miscellaneous, work photos, personal photos and eveny month I will work on sorting my photos to the relevent albums and hide them so they don't show in my camera roll. I know each month that I can sort the photos in my camera roll back to 0.
