Can you make a phone call to help save a Palestinian Village?
From Friends of Sabeel North America:
The village of Wadi Foquin faces extinction as farmland is either stolen or polluted by raw sewage running from the illegal Israeli settlement of Betar Illit. United Methodist pastor, the Rev. Michael Yoshii, is leading the effort to save the village.
Our hope is that the Lantos Human Rights Commission of the U.S. Congress will hold briefings about the abuses suffered by the villagers.
Due to a previous intervention, the two co-chairs of the Commission have sent a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry asking him to investigate. To bolster this effort, please take ten minutes to call your Congressional Representative and express support for investigating human rights abuses against Wadi Foquin, as expressed in the letter to Secretary of State, John Kerry. The situation in this village is a microcosm of the occupation. If we can get Congress to investigate human rights violations in one small village, we are taking steps to saving others as well.
