Oops. I started a little fight with the Jordanian bloggers. I didn't
mean to but, well, they were asking for it. There have been a number
of posts lately about how the nice friendly police and Queen Alia
Airport have been turning Iraqis back at the airport. (Iraq the Model,
Healing Iraq an Last of Iraqis for example) so I complained in my post
at Global Voices. Now a couple of Jordanian bloggers have sprung up in
defence of their police. Saying Iraqis are flooding their country and
leeching on their economy. Have a read and comment if you want. Here
are two prime examples...

Nice reply at Black Irises. Are you going to make your comment on
Black Irises a full post or can I put it into my blog?

There is also this enlightened Jordanian ranting about us terrible
Iraqis...

Boy they get worse all the time.

regards

SA

hmmm.
i already said something similar at Bakkouz, again i say it:

1. issue visas to regulate iraq/jordan borders
(and put an end to all the random stoppage/kickouts iraqis are getting)

2. press the international community to offer aid (the iraqi government are too busy stealing money to give it)

3. breathe life into the UNHCR program thru funds, and treaties, to solve the refugee crisis.

narrow-mindedness exists in all shapes, colors, and nationalities.
same as we call jordanians names, they call us.

some on those threads are fair, some are harsh, and some are simply morons who'd sooner cut their own head off than help another.

but you know what ticks me the most?
those of us iraqis who are too proud/stupid to register at the UNHCR.

i agree it wont solve anything now, or maybe even after 10 years,
BUT get this: there will  be a million registered refugees in jordan. REFUGEES.
not residents, not tourists.
OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZED HOMELESS PEOPLE.
maybe then the world will pay attention.

I think the Iraq the Model blog is a fraud. They post interesting articles but am not sure if they are real Iraqis. They could be "Uncle Sam".

May, I don't think you are right. I have been following their blog for
a few years, argued with them, sworn at them and even got my blog
thrown off their blogroll. But I am sure they are genuine Iraqis
living in Baghdad albeit Iraqis that have thrown in their lot with the
American project.

walla i think they real. i do hate them too:P but i know someone that talks to one of them i just remembered. i mean chats with one of them, well, online chatting is hardly a concrete evidence of anything:P but nevertheless:)

but they really can be way over too much, i mean seriously, sometimes you have real faith that they are employees in the US adminstration the stuff they write is really unbelievable sometimes.
