alter table.... move to dbspace

How does move to dbspace work?
sp_iqtablesize differs between before and after the move.

What was table size before and after?  It should change the table size that much.

Mark,
Out of five tables . Same structure - different data  . They were (-2.7,-24.6,-2.46,0.14,18.0)%.
Minus meaning smaller after the move.  The move seems to be logical rather than physical!
Are there other actions taken place
under the hood of the alter statement?
Any insights about turning a view
into a huge partition table? And its related maintenance tasks.
