Help with dating a phylogenetic tree

Dear colleagues,

I am strugling with dating a phylogenetic tree. I tried two options:

1) iqtree2 -s ALN_FILE --date DATE_FILE

this approach gave nonsense values at the tree nodes like
-3321021-09-06, -1234427-11-10 etc

2) if I tried to date an existing contree from the same alignment

iqtree2 -s ALN_FILE --date DATE_FILE -te TREE_FILE

 I received:

"ERROR: Tree taxon XXX does not appear in the alignment" 

for a number of taxa. I am used the same alignment, so where is the problem?

Any advice is appreciated.
