The Ipswich Historical Commission is holding a special meeting on Tuesday evening February 25, 7:30 pm in the Mary Conley Room, basement floor of the Ipswich Town Hall. On the agenda is discussion of the recent proposal by owners of Dunkin Donuts for Lords Square, a continuation of the discussion from last week's regularly scheduled meeting. The public is welcome to this open meeting.

Also a reminder that there is an opening for a full member of the Ipswich Historical Commission, created by the recent resignation of June Gahan. A recent change in state law also makes it possible to appoint seven alternate members to the Commission. Applications should go to Jennifer Breaker in the town manager's office.

The deadline for applications is today, but I will encourage the town manager to review all applications. The application form and description of responsibilities can be downloaded at http://www.historicipswich.org/ipswich-historical-commission/

I suggest reviewing the following documents before attending Tuesday's meeting so that we are familiar with the issue before us and the role of the Historical Commission.

History of Lords Square (from my blog)
Demolition Delay Bylaw (Historical Commission site)
Historical Commission duties (Town administrative manual)
