There are no restrictions on topics. Art, science, design, technology, music, literature, cooking, and even flower arranging, are all legitimate. There are also no restrictions on language—so long as it is not used to defame or demean. 

Please refrain from ad hominem attacks and avoid stereotyping. Claims made should be evidence-based and include supporting references.

You can learn more about some of our members by reading their introductions. Please add a brief post introducing yourself and supplying a bit of background information. E.g., what you do, your educational background, your interests. You get the idea. Make your name the subject line and tag your post introduction. 

At the bottom of the post input form is an input box that is captioned "Group permits up to 4 comma-separated tags on a topic." You can use tags to provide a multi-axial categorization of posts, such as introduction or politics, libertarianism, or just a rant.

Ipse Dixit is listed in Google's directory of groups. All group posts are visible to search engines.

For those of you living in the San Francisco Bay Area, we encourage you to add our calendar to yours so that you will always be up-to-date on in-person discussions and other events. These include our monthly dinner meetings at various restaurants around Berkeley and Oakland.
