I’d been thinking of just such a site for a while when I discovered SorryWatch.com, which analyzes purported apologies in the media, or what most often are really self-indulgent blame-shifting spin-fests. To wit, a recent posting from the site. I find them everywhere: the non-apology apology, by which persons in the public eye seek to de-smirch themselves while simultaneously not actually forgive the person(s) they’ve injured. (Often they also go ”into rehab” where their bad behaviors will be magically expurgated. Some people have been in rehab multiple times.) Politicians make them. Actors make them. CEOs make them. People caught on Vine or YouTube do it. Have you ever made a non-apology apology? If so, why?

Absolutely. I have done so many times. The language of the non-apology apology is extremely useful on those occasions (mostly work-related) where someone has taken offense at something I have said or written. In cases such as those wherein I have stated what I believe to true, it serves wonderfully to fulfill the function of an apology while not actually admitting any wrong at all.
