Before sending replies, please take a moment to excise any prior message content that follows your content. In-line quotes, citations, and references to previous messages are fine and encouraged. Your email application's intrinsic M,ssage threading should be more than adequate for your message's place in a discussion's chronology.

Top posts are legitimate when you are forking a new thread from an existing one. That is when you edit a message's subject so that it because the first post of a new discussion.

Got it, boss.  I've been doing both, but bottom-posting is my personal preference -- if not responding inline point by point.  Old habits of a longtime Usenet warrior ....
