Dear colleagues and friends,

As early career professionals who have been conducting research at the intersection of climate governance and young people, we are concerned about the limited analytical research on the impacts of youth engagement in climate governance. In response, we shall be conducting a series of short surveys seeking to understand how young people influence (and are influenced by) climate governance and policy at multiple levels. We invite you take this survey and share with friends and colleagues working on youth and climate change governance. The outcomes of this first survey shall be presented at the prestigious Berlin Conference on Transformative global climate governance "après Paris" (http://www.berlinconference.org/on 23-24 May 2016. It is our hope that through presenting rigorous scientific research as evidence for how young people are increasingly influencing climate governance, we will contribute to analytical studies on the inclusion of marginalized groups in climate governance.

Kindly fill in the survey herehttp://goo.gl/forms/48v2O3bzm0(takes about 20 minutes).

Thanks in advance!

Dear Jean Paul, Grace, and Kennedy,

This is an issue that has been in my mind quite a bit these days, especially in light of the recent news about the Great Barrier Reef. I will be happy to participate in your survey. Collaborative governance and the role of youth is a focus in my research as well, and I am attaching 2 papers in case they are of any interest. The first specifically talks about youth and their roles in social-ecological and social-economic crises, and the second is a structural analysis of collaborative governance (not focused specifically on youth).

Thank you for doing this very important work. Please let me know if there is any way that I may assist you in the future.

All the best,

Melanie

Dear Melanie,

Many thanks for your email; it is quite refreshing to learn of other young researchers focusing on youth and environmental governance.

I have quickly glanced at your attached papers and they are of great interest. Grace and I will make time to read and maybe get some ideas from them when working on our paper.

As for assistance, you can start by filling in our survey, then you can share it with people and youth networks. We will also maybe get in touch along the process of writing the paper.

Otherwise thanks once again.

Dear Jean-Paul,

Thank you for sharing the survey once again; much appreciated!

Best wishes,
Ken
