IPPA PTA - App Boot Camp

Hello Parents,

We will be offering an App Boot Camp to students of IPPA PTA members:

 

When:  Sunday, January 12^th, 2014

                Sunday, January 19^th, 2014

 

Time:    12pm-3pm

 

Where: GS Gathering Place, 2400 Ogden Avenue, Suite 400, Lisle, IL 60532  MAP

 

Grade:  4^th through 8^th

 

Cost:      $40 total for both classes ($20 per class)

 

Maximum Students: 25; If we have more than 25 applicants, we will possibly hold a lottery for acceptance.

 

Applications will become available on December 2^nd, more details to follow.

 

Requirements:  IPPA PTA Parent’s membership; Google email account; Students are required to understand basic computer commands without individual instruction.  STUDENTS MUST COMMIT TO BOTH DAYS.  If you have a date conflict, we ask that you please not apply.

 

This is a 2 day workshop that will introduce students to creating their very own Android™ App.  Students will be provided with a laptop, an Android™ Smartphone and MIT Appinventor.  A professional trained by Google’s Motorola Mobility will teach and guide the students.  Sorry kids, the equipment is not for you to take home.  The objective of this class is to INTRODUCE students to the concept of App Writing.  Although this class is being offered at a Girl Scout facility, this private class is open to both boys and girls.
