There are a number of great natural remedies for certain skin conditions. The use of coconut oil for perioral dermatitis is thought of as one of the best. In knowing whether or not you have this condition, check for small, red lumps around the mouth area, commonly known as papules. Sometimes, these spots may develop around the nose but this is far rarer. It is often mistaken for a kind of acne.

These spots might occur for quite a few different reasons. Sometimes, their appearance can be traced back to an allergy of some sort, or a reaction to drug use. While both men and women are both liable to develop this condition, women are more prone to it. The reason for this is believed to be the frequent appliance of chemical-containing make-up which may provoke an outbreak.

The irritation is not contagious and it is also not a serious problem worth worrying about. A number of natural treatments are available, usually in the form of antibacterial soaps and herbal remedies. A change of diet, essential oils and creams, are also of a great help.

The most common natural cream for this condition is coconut oil. It stops irritation very effectively. Mainly because of all the healthy fats that is found within. These are best to speed up healing, often more effectively that prescribed medicine. The anti-inflammatory nature of the cream is great to prevent infection from occurring.

This kind of essential oil comes without any chemicals and can be used even as a daily skin moisturizer. Helping soften the skin, it also protects it against free radicals, and keeps it healthy looking all day long. Its light formula allows it to dry in just a few minutes, so that you can quickly apply foundation, if you want to cover the irritation.

This treatment should be applied directly to the face while it is also possible to take it as a sort of supplement, which has the same effect, but through healing the skin from within. Prolonged use will not only ensure that your current case is treated, but will also make sure that it does not crop up again at a later date.

In many severe cases, the dermatologist might prescribe the patient with oral antibiotics or drugs. However, using coconut oil for perioral dermatitis treatment, has been proven to work faster and more effectively than any type of antibiotic, even in these severe cases. Being 100% natural it can be used as often as you want and for extended periods of time.
