Was watching some of the arena tournament videos, and was curious if there was a way to configure gladius or another similiar addon that looks like the shoutcasters screen for abilities/trinket/DRs etc.
This is my first expansion I dove in to arenas and am having a blast. Got to 1900 pre corruption and slowed down a bit due to hating gushing wound abuse. Excited to get back in on tuesday and get ready for shadowlands!
Remember to reset the profiles and manually delete all previous configured profiles, for whatever reason old profiles were causing the addon to disapear - possibly for using outdated settings that came from the ancient version of the original Gladius and they both (old Gladius and new Gladius) share the same settings files.
What is Gladius?
Gladius adds enemy unit frames to arenas for easier targeting and focusing. It shows a health bar, a mana bar below the health bar (optional), a cast bar below the mana bar (optional), a class icon to the left side of the health bar (optional) and important buffs and crowd control durations (optional, overlays the class icon). The frame resizes itself to the current bracket (optional).
Gladius uses the 3.0.2 arena unit ids, therefore it'll add units automatically to the frame (byebye targeting macros) and you'll always be able to target/focus the enemies, regardless of if they are added when you're in combat. The cast bars and the buff/debuff timers should be 100% correct.
You can add important buffs and crowd controls in the auralist.lua file. You will have to select a priority for it. If a buff/debuff is already displaying when the spell is cast it'll only show up on the class icon if the priority equals or is higher than the current one displayed.
More features:
Arena enemies targets (optional): displays the class of the arena enemy's current target in a small frame on the health bar to the right.
Trinket status (optional): has a few different display options, but in general it shows if the PvP Trinket is ready for the arena enemy.
Slash commands:
/gladius ui, config, options - displays the configuration screen
/gladius test1-5 - shows a test frame with the chosen amount of test units
/gladius hide - hides the test frame
/gladius trinket - simulates a trinket being used for the first arena target
But.. but.. this is very similar to Proximo and SSAF?
Yes, I simply created this as a learning project for Lua. I actually didn't plan on releasing it but in the end I thought it turned out pretty good and decided to give it a go. I do not expect to start competing with the big boys, but perhaps someone else is interested in using it.
Thanks:
Thanks to Proximo, SSArena Frames and their respective developers for working as both inspirational and informational sources.

Do you find yourself struggling to track cooldowns or interrupts? Do thecrowd control abilities you use not last as long as they should? Tracking suchabilities and diminishing returns can be difficult to do without help. Thereare thousands of addons to choose from, but to make things easier, we havepicked 6 addons that every PvP player should be using.
OmniCD is anadd-on for those that want to know extra information about their teammate'scooldowns. For healers, this is an absolutely mandatory addon to have.Having the knowledge to know when one of your partners has their trinketor a defensive cooldown available is crucial.
Aside from being able to track your and your teammate's cooldowns,OmniBar is crucial tobeing able to do the same for the enemy team's cooldowns. OmniBar allows you todo just that. You can simply go into the interface and decide whichinterrupts/cooldowns should be tracked for each class. This will help youdecide if you should use a defensive if the enemy team uses offensiveabilities or if you can cast (if there are no interrupts available).
An alternative addon to OmniBar isNamePlateCooldowns. This addon is customizable and can track any abilities you would like to see.The primary difference is that the cooldowns are displayed above the enemyplayer's nameplate. This is great for those that do not want to keep lookingdown at their OmniBar. It can take time to glance down and with this addon, thenameplates are normally eye level, helping you react faster to enemycooldowns being used.
Paying attention to details is crucial to being successful in PvP. The firstthing you need to pay attention to is your teammates.BigDebuffs increasesthe size of all crowd-control abilities on your raid frames and makes themore important debuffs bigger. This is useful because, for example, you donot want to start using burst cooldowns if your teammate is stuck in crowdcontrol. This is also especially useful for healers who want to get fasterat dispelling debuffs.
No matter if you usesArena orGladius, these are byfar the most important addons to have in PvP. sArena in combination withDiminish doesthe exact same thing as Gladius itself. These addons are highly customizableand give you important information on the enemy team. Tracking diminishingreturns, what honor talents they are using, and what spells they are castingare some examples of the information these addons give you.
An important part of maximizing your damage is being able to track specificprocs and cooldowns, andWeakAuras 2 gives youthat ability. Even if you are a beginner, you can import strings from otherplayers and use them! Being able to track certain buffs drastically increasesyour healing/damage output. You can also track the remaining duration of adefensive buff that is active on you or a party member.
It does not matter if you are a beginner or a seasoned PvP player; theseadd-ons will improve your gameplay drastically. The addons mentionedgive you the information you need to keep track of all the information youneed. Let us know in the comments if there are any addons that you use thatare not in this list!
They have been replaced by the cooldowns module, which now allows you to have several groups of cooldowns configured independently. By default, the trinket cooldown is shown in group 2 and a few other cooldowns in group 1.
Those are the party frames. This is incremental functionality that will help you track not only your enemies but also your friends. If you use your own you can turn these easily off in the general settings. You can also disable only your own frame, but keep the GladiusEx party frames.
In reply to kimchifightn: Thank god some one else is psting this, Im getting the exact same thing mid way through a solo shuffle the frames just disappear, exactly looking like op image. ive tried disabling all other addons to see if it was clashing with somthing, nothing got rid of this error after disabling most other addons. Yes plz help. as a healer when this happens every game basicly a death sentence for my team.
The click function does not work for me, a simple left click target and right click focus. Any ideas why? I have no major UI overhaul addons like ElvUI and clicks are working with sarena, though I'd prefer to use gladiusex.
I cant reply there for some reason but I made the topic "Crop borders setting acting weird #29" under the issues link. I just wanted to say I reset the addon and started from scratch and now it suddenly worked so no need to do anything about that. Thanks for a great addon!
Hi, I have been trying to track charge and heroic leap, both of which have a cooldown reduction in the talents. I want to take two seconds off charge and eleven seconds off leap to account for people who have these talents. Is there a way to modify the time of the cooldowns? It would be very useful. Thank you.
SoundAlerter is an addon that alerts players via sound when enemies are casting or have used certain abilities aswell as a tracker for when abilities have worn off (eg. divine shield down, deterrence down).
