Animal tests?

Testing with animals would (right?) make the tech more acceptable to
people.

How about if the tech was also made available to animals first? For
rich folks, whose pet is obese for example.

I think you're right though. At the moment I'm going through the brain
stimulation literature looking for studies where they've actually made
the animals DO something (but being scientists they usually just focus
on how the neural circuit works rather than what it can do).

Sure it sounds like a small thing and probably is, but I was just
pretty amazed at
how an old and very sluggish cat responded to infrared stimulation
which I use
myself. It only took a week to see real changes.

But then again, DBS costs just about 500 times as much...
