Tendulkar is great but he has not contributed much to the team lately.Everybody needs to be on the same bar for selection.He is automatically selected always.and sometimes this so much of tendulkar worship irritates.

Sometimes I believe there is a conspiracy behind his retirement.Board doesn't allow him to retire as it will take away much from the game.As many people wont watch (live and on TV) as they do now,just for sachin.They are selling him for cricket. Warna WC ke baad ODIs se to khushi khushi retire ho sakta tha. :P

Naah ... They just need to rethink their strategy upfront
If you look at the past few games, smith and dk look to play too slow in the first half of the innings
Tendulkar inability to fire at the top this season has added extra pressure on the middle and lower order. But still tendulkar has 3 forties this season, not good by his standards of course. If you see that game against kkr, you can clearly figure out his intent at the top.
For me, he looks good enough for another two ipl seasons. Having said that, I don't want him to play like an ordinary player struggling every now and then as he did in the first half of this season.

I dont think there is any conspiracy...it just that he loves the game and he want to play it more...and he thinks that he can play...but his age doesnt support that...and sachin is that type who if pressurized, throws away his wicket..and we can say that he is under a lot of pressure after seeing ponting :P
Good thing is he is showing intent unlike sehwag who just take things casually.

@bhati agree to a large extent.
But I also agree with tendulkar when he says "its selfish to retire when on top".
I would rather want him to hang his boots than see him struggle at the crease, falling to his ever so getting slow reflexes.
His decision to continue playing odi after world cup looks arguable now but back then I think it was right on his part to continue considering his touch and form then.
You can't play the whole four years of odi cricket just for wc preparations and he retired from odis well before time.
As far as tests are concerned, I think sa series will be his last and he might have planned his retirement keeping that in mind only as most indian batsmen have struggled on sa tracks and his experience will come handy

Exactly, seeing such a player struggle makes me sad. That's why I question why is he still playing.He doesn't need to prove that he has super human body and can play as awesome at 40 as he did back then.We know its age catching up to him.

I thought the same earlier too.Maybe all the senior players are retiring.There should be some senior with experience to guide the young team.But now there are enough good test players--kohli,pujara,dhawan,sharma,rahane. Give them more chances.They will do good.

Sehwag ka to pata nhi bhai.us din 95 mare to lagta hai abhi bhi khel sakta hai.but uska mann hi nhi hai.waise aisa h hota hai kam technique wale players ke saath.ek baar age hui thodi,wo instinct gaya,wo hand-eye coordination gaya to gaye.Tendulkar was intelligent.He changed his game in 30s accordingly.

Exactly thats the best part about tendulkar
He has made adjustments in his game, even cut down a few shots due to injuries and age, adapted to conditions and changing scenarios in game and excelled even in t20. Not to forget he was player of the tournament three years back at the age of 37.

Both seem to be too casual in their approach.

six  or rather seven of the spots have been replaced in the test side in the past 2 3 years with vijay dhawan pujara kohli ashwin umesh bhuvi jadeja coming in

And let me remind you God never appears himself in-front of commoners like us. He will send his son to complete his tasks. Sehwag sent Sachin on earth to do the same. And then came down just to take feed-backs. Seems like Sehwag did good by letting sachin be sachin.

Vijay had a very poor domestic season except that he scored in irani and all of a sudden he was playing for india ahead of rahane who had a wonderful season and gambhir
And as luck would have it, vijay was persisted in 2nd test and rest is history

Dhoni ki ek baat to hai..jinpe bharosa karta hai..he gives them chances and doesn't give up and gives them more chances---Jadeja,Raina,Sharma,now Vijay.Credit must go to Dhoni too.I believe he has a lot of say in team selection.Gambhir and Rahane should be given chances too. Rahane lekin chutiya hai,kya kiya apne debut pe.

Dravid and Kallis are two legends that I believe should be considered gods too.They are respected by everyone.They are ever so gentlemen.and rarely I have seen Kallis in bad form.And his bowling is under-rated.He is a great bowler.He still touches 140.

Sehwag on his day is untouchable.There was a time when he overtook Sachin as the best batsman in the team and in the world.It was a pleasure to see him bat.
