The Jury
This year, we have changed how the awards are decided. The winning titles were selected by a distinguished jury of seven experts. There were many excellent IP books published in 2025 that deserved recognition, which made it challenging to decide on a single winner for each category. We are immensely grateful to the jury members for giving their time and expertise to arrive at these tough decisions.
The jury members were, in alphabetical order by last name: Lord Justice Richard Arnold (Court of Appeal of England & Wales), Antonios Baris (International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organisations), Dr Hayleigh Bosher (Brunel University of London), Dr Daria Kim (Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition), Philipp von Kapff (EUIPO Boards of Appeal), Adela (Zhixuan) Wang (Queen Mary University of London), and Dr Evana Wright (University of Technology Sydney).
The jury members contributed in their personal capacities, and the views expressed through the selection of the winning books do not represent the positions of any organisations with which they may be affiliated.
The assessment process was a group effort. Decisions were reached collectively, with each juror contributing according to their areas of expertise and the time available to engage with the books. The deliberations drew on their collective breadth of knowledge and perspectives, rather than requiring each juror to evaluate every eligible title. This Kat chaired the deliberations in her capacity as Book Review editor, but did not vote at any stage of the selection process.
Without further ado, the winners!
