Since 1953, the
Copyright Society has been comprised of copyright law practitioners and members who work in literature, music, art, theatre, motion pictures and television, computer software architecture and all forms of new media. Its mission is to foster interest in and advance the study and understanding of copyright law.
The good news is that the Copyright Society now holds a biennial in-person conference outside of the US. This year the International Conference is taking place in Dublin from 19 to 21 October 2025.
Preparations are well underway, and highlights include panel discussions on:
- Cross-Border Copyright Foundations
- Article 17: Has the "Value Gap" Closed? Or the Internet Killed Off?
- AI: Ownership, Infringement and Extraterritoriality
- How to Get Deals Done: A Cross-Border Discussion
- Enforcement War Stories: Tales from the Trenches of International IP Protection
- Copyright v. AI: The Existential Showdown (International Edition): Comparing US, EU, and UK Approaches to Balancing Copyright and AI Innovation
The full agenda is available
here and we would encourage you to take a look!
The conference also offers a great platform for visibility among international copyright experts, and several law firms have already confirmed their support. More information is available
here.
