18 December, 10am London time: WIPO webinar: Filing and managing PCT applications, online. Learn about filing international PCT applications through ePCT with the UKIPO as the receiving office, submitting documents, managing team access rights, and using ePCT to monitor and manage international applications. Aimed at patent practitioners, paralegals and applicants who file or manage PCT applications. Details and registrations here.

CITMA Christmas Lunch: Many of the great and the good of the UK trade marks profession got together in the annual afternoon knees-up on 5 December.  Thank you to CITMA for running such a brilliant event!

EUIPO hosted Europol intellectual property crime cyber-patrol: The EUIPO hosted a collaboration with 30 investigators specialising in online piracy from 10-14 November. See here. 

Oatly and Dairy UK have been in the UK Supreme Court this week, arguing about the registrability of POST MILK GENERATION. Oatly is appealing against the Court of Appeal's decision to reinstate the hearing officer's decision invalidating the trade mark. Interesting, and rarely argued, issues regarding 'designations' such as 'milk'. The parties submissions and recordings of submissions in court available here.
