What/how would you guys obtain/record a video of the iPhone's display ?

Like Jobs does in the demos ?

I believe Jobs has a special phone with vga output...so the only way I
to do would be to use some recording software on your mac and record
your iPhone Simulator. Most recording software allows you to specify
an area of a the screen of even an application window (which is
essentially what the iPhone simulator is) to record.

I use iShowU to record video myself but there are plenty of other
solutions out there.

Thanks, Michael, that's what I'm doing right now (using SnapzProX),
but not all the apps are installed in the simulator. If you e.g.
wanted to record how to setup up an email account, you can't.

I'm looking for a VNC server, a video streamer of the iPhone's
screen... any ideas ?

I found this:

You will need to Jailbreak your phone though...

As a summary, this video just shows using Cydia to install the Veency
package, which is a VNC server, and you can connect using regular VNC
clients.

Happy to have it, and happy to save you the 5 minutes of video!

I use a combination of simulator and SnapzProX and iPhone screenshots
put together in iMovie. Here are some samples: http://tutorials.iknow.fhu.edu
