What is the Field Test Mode?

it brings up a "Field Test" menu, with these options:
Network Information
Cell Information
GPRS Information
PDP Information
Call information
Versions

each are menus that lead to a bunch of read-only values -- for example
Versions shows you the Firmware version (actually on my iPhone it
shows the "Firware version" for some reason) and the LCD Panel ID.

Looks like its for debugging the cellular network connection.

Should add www.iphonefeeds.net to the mix too. It's a daily stop for
me, many major iphone news feeds are listed there.
