Size limit or bug in wax_xml_parser

I've tried to run the following code snippet and it crashes wax with no error message

local yb="http://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/data-chart-center/interest-rates/pages/XmlView.aspx?data=yieldyear&year=2009"

local g=wax.http.get{yb,format='text'}

local a=wax.xml.parse(g)

The commented line works (it's a smaller download than the uncommented one). I have verified that it downloads properly.

What could be causing the crash? Is it the size of the download, or something more fundamental?
