Martin and I have talked with a few people about the first meeting for
http://iphone.mn, we have decided on the Spyhouse Coffee shop on Nicollet this Saturday May 2nd at ~1pm. (Google maps link
http://u.nu/25x?). The first meeting will be mostly a quiet afternoon/evening of programming interjected with questions, demonstrations and information sharing. Hopefully we can get few developers to show up to talk about future agendas, meeting places and to geek out with us for a while. I would also like to invite technical testers and enthusiasts that might want to help test and give input to what we're working on. The OS 3.0 has new features to make local multi-user discovery a lot easier. We need to test that, I have an iPhone and an iPod touch running 3.0b3 that can be used for testing this first meeting. Meetings will happen every two weeks and involve more of the same: programming, sharing, testing. The plan then is every month or two or ? to have an "iPhone dev open house" to demo and share our applications with anyone else who is interested. This would hopefully be a media event for local reporters to review apps and report on what's going on in our local iPhone community. Look forward to meeting new people this Saturday!
