Hello. I have iphone 3gs 16gb with firmware 3.1.2 baseband 5.11
My phone is stuck with an error of unknow imei and allows only
emergency calls.when i try to restore with itunes it shows error 23.
Am totally screwed..
Can anyone please help me to recover my phone..I want to restore it
back to life...

Have you tried googling error 23 on itunes?

ya have searched a lot on Google about this error. it is said that
this problem is related to radio device failure but still some
forums say that it is not hardware problem.so am confused.and the
remedies given on google is for lower firmwares and not for 3.1.2...
so am stuck for now.. :-(

Actually it is gifted my sister.and as it is jailbroken and unlocked
so i don't think apple will now put their hands on it... :-(

The officially unlocked iPhones are available in abroad Apple stores.
I bought mine in Hong kong. It works without any issue here. My FW &
BB versions are same as yours.

I don't have any clue to your issue.

Actually mine was also working fine but the problem came when i kept
it switched off for few hours.. Nevermind thanx for the reply...
