FlashCards version 1.9.3 (the next version) will support local back up
to your local computer. This will work with virtually any operating
system (Mac, Windows, Linux, ect).

The procedure will be to connect your iPod/iPhone to the same WiFi
network as your local computer. Then run a program called SyncDocs
(links to download at the bottom of this post). At the main cardset
screen (the first screen that application launches too), there will be
a Backup and a Restore button. After clicking Backup it will try to
find your machine, which should show up in a list, after you click on
it it will back up your data to your local machine.

To restore the procedure is almost the same. You again run SyncDocs
on your computer while your iPod/iPhone is connected to the same WiFi
network as your local computer. Then after you click the Restore
button you click on your local machine again (most likely the only
option in the list). It will then list the dates of all your back ups
and you can restore from any back up. Restoring from a back up WILL
remove all your local data and replace it with the backed up data.

A YouTube video demonstrating this process will be up in a few days.

The update was submitted about a week ago so it should be out any day
now.

I spent more time focusing on this, and the previous update so the
redesigned website will probably be early September now.

I'm having trouble importing a cardset I've created, can anyone else
duplicate this issue? When I try to importing cards to my FlashCards,
it only adds the last card. I've tried this with the cardsets http://flashcards.red5dev.com/cardsets/5109
and http://flashcards.red5dev.com/cardsets/5108

Thanks
Jason

I was able to import both of those to my iPhone without a problem.  Anyone else able to duplicate Jason's issue?  Perhaps try turning the phone off and on again?  Are you seeing this with all of your cardsets or just those in particular?

Thanks!

Jason,

It seems as if this issue has gone away, things are working now. The program still gets slow with a lot of cards in the system, but I don't know if you can ever get around that... keep up the good work!

Thanks

Glad to here you got it straightened out.  I'm not sure what the issue was.  I submitted an update to Apple a while ago that fixes a few bugs with the currently released version and adds the ability to back up to your local machine.  I've almost got another update ready to go which does a few performance improvements, especially with large cardsets.

Thanks!

Jason
