I've downloaded and run the dmg and pkg file, but after restarting (several times since in fact) I still don't see the disk image mounted in the desktop, or in finder.  Do i have to run a command-line in Terminal or something?  Or is this only for 10.5 and up?  Sounds like it's just what I need, because Griffin Technology's iTalk makes AIFFs that I can't see/find using DiskAid, TouchCopy etc etc.

Is there a certain amount of free space needed beyond the install space?  How can I check to make sure that's been installed? MacFuse is there, checked just now....what else could be wrong?

Hi Mike,

iphonedisk installs itself as a launch agent so it should run on
startup. Perhaps this only works for newer versions of OS X, i' not
sure. If that is the case, you can always run the binary manually.
Have a look at the command and arguments that were written to
/Library/LaunchAgents/org.thebends.iphonedisk.mobile_fs_util.plist and
try running it from the Terminal yourself.

Um, OK, but I'm kind of a newbie at this....do you mean that /Library/
etc .plist in terminal, or is it in the read me or...."duh". Please
explain where and I'll give it a whirl....or can I just put that line
in terminal, one I navigate to teh host directory, or from the main
drive directory even?

Just found that plist and opened it, but this is all there was:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC -//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN
http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd >
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>Label</key>
<string>org.thebends.iphonedisk.mobile_fs_util</string>
<key>ProgramArguments</key>
<array>
<string>/Library/iphonedisk/mobile_fs_util</string>
<string>iPhoneDisk</string>
<string>/Library/iphonedisk/iPhoneDisk.icns</string>
<string>com.apple.afc</string>
</array>
<key>KeepAlive</key>
<true/>
</dict>
</plist>

Does it mean that I can just go to /Library/iphonedisk/ and run/type
iPhonDisk, or should I use "iPhoneDisk.icns" as the command-line?

I've tried cd Library and have tried cd iphonedisk and cd iPhoneDisk
but in both cases got "no such file or directory", trying just
iPhoneDisk and /iPhoneDisk.icns at the Library prompt, got "no such
command"....what's the command line for the binary, please?

Sorry I wasn't more specific before. The equivalent command would be
(combining all of the <string> program arguments):

$ /Library/iphonedisk/mobile_fs_util iPhoneDisk
/Library/iphonedisk/iPhoneDisk.icns com.apple.afc

I get "permission denied", whether from teh user prompt or the library
prompt....I guess that means maybe it just won't work in 10.4? Or is
there a way to "grant permission"?

Found somebody with the upgrade disks, should be able to do it
soon.....once I find somewhere to put 5-6 gigs of hard drive storage
so I can do it.....

Just an aside, this machine before I got it was in OS 9 and there's an
old OS 9 Applications Folder....IE, Quicktime, Acrobat, etc.....about
170mb only....can I safely delete that? Or will it affect 10.4
operations?

postscript: first time out I did it from the /Library prompt and got
"cannot execute binary" and THEN the "permission denied" on a second
response i.e. there were two lines; backing up to the parent directory
I got the "permission denied" only.
