The IPhone hp42 acts in a way that is bothersome once the stack is completely filled (The dynamic stack option is off).

Clear the stack.  Press 2, then press enter 3 times.  This fills the stack with 2's.  Once this is done, pressing the  <- (clear) button should clear the x register and drop the stack.  It would be nice if once the stack is dropped 3 times, the stack would once again be empty instead of what does happen.  2's remain in the stack no matter how many times the <- (clear) button is pushed.

If you would "fix" this, I would make a $10.00 donation (or buy a HP42S for my son's IPOD, your choice) and will give you further suggestions on how to improve the calculator further.

Copying down from the T(op) register is how the original calculator
was designed to work. This is not a bug but a very useful feature and
is documented in the original owner's manual. If you wish to clear the
stack use the CLST function.

I'll give you an example of how it is useful too:

I have a large number of regularly spaced holes to drill in a metal
backplane. The holes have to be spaced at increments of 27.71". By
filling the stack with 27.71 and repeatedly hilling the + button I get
the total measurements to mark from the origin off without
accumulating rounding error. If the stack operated as you would like
I'd only get to mark off 4 holes before I had to fill the stack again.

I would agree with Tom and as he points out, this is how the original calculator worked. Using the dynamic stack option works similar to what you seem to prefer.
