This is madness. Call me a tight-arse for not wanting to shell out $15US for a DVD full of manuals, 95 percent of which are no good to me, sure.

If someone could email or Dropbox the manual to me, that would be grand.

I would have thought that the 42s fan community would have this manual up somewhere, and I have been ten pages deep on google. It is nowhere. Is it hp ruthlessly pursuing any copyright infringers? If so, why not send the heavies around to the creators of these emulators?

I have the alternative manual. While it is an adequate intro, if feels a bit thin with regard to explanations of all functions.

Tried free42 (good), am now on 42s for iPhone (heaps good).

Hook me up.

Ok, you're a tight-arse, but I don't blame you.

There has been talk about re-creating the manual, but yea... copyright concerns.  Even though at this point I couldn't see HP caring anymore, but who knows.  The heavies haven't been sent around to the HP emulator people because they use ROMs that HP has allowed to be distributed, for example the 15c.  The 42s is not an emulator... Thomas Okken, creator of Free42 did a complete reverse-engineering and re-implementation of the 42S in C, all legal.  The iPhone 42s augments that source base.

I've wanted to make a function reference and put it on the web, but just haven't gotten there.   Even better, a function reference in calc...

Ok cheers, Byron. I am holding out hope that someone at work will be able to find me their hard copy. But yeah. Function reference in calc would be next level!
