import export and version updates

Hi Byron

 

I’m running iOS 6.1.3

 

And have 42s Version 3.2.1

Free42 1.4.7oi

 

I wanted to export my 700+  line COGO  programme to a raw file but my browser refuses to log on to http//192.168.0.5:8000

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Also how do I get updates for my 42s IE to 3.2.4 and if I did would I lose the Programme I have loaded into 3.2.1

Hi Terry.  Strange that the browser is giving you trouble, I would guess some sort of firewall issues either on your machine or router.  If you're familiar with the ping tool, press the home button on your phone, and try and ping 192.168.0.5 (or whatever IP 42s places in the URL) from your computer.  If the ping is successful then it's your browser giving you grief, otherwise probably a network issue.

The only other way is through file sharing with iTunes, but you can only get the 42s.state file which includes all programs and  there is no real way to extract independent program files.  In iTunes go to your device > Apps.  at the bottom you'll see file sharing section, click on the 42s.

If find you can't get it working send me your 42s.state file and I'll extract the program for you.

Well, I think you're safe since 3.2.1 is the most recent version.  but all versions so far have intended to be upward compatible such that upgrade should not remove or change data.

Hi Byron

I cant get anything to work.

I have turned off my firewall , I have pinged my wireless router with out problem but have no success with pinging the number given in the 42s import/export page.

As for I tunes I only have one device and that's this phone when I go to apps I cants see anything to do with File sharing or transfer the only thing at the bottom is a link to buy more apps.

I did find home sharing in the file menu but that seems to lead nowhere.

I have wasted so much time with Apples closed don't touch me use only our products system I fail to see how they survive as a company.

If I had any spare cash I'd through my (hand me down)  iphone as a far as possible and get an Android.

(It's not your fault I just had to vent)

Now I'm going of to have a cup of tea and a lie down.

Sorry this is giving you grief, I've been there.

Wish I could help more with the network stuff, but It's hard to guess what's what. 

For iTunes you may be in the app store, and not the apps section of your device. I've attached what it looks like for me.
