hey guys,

I can use iphone-socks-proxy with google chrome, but I'm having
trouble getting it to work with command line utilities via tsocks.

here's my tsocks.conf:

local = 127.0.0.1/255.255.255.255
local = 169.254.0.0/255.255.0.0
server = 169.254.77.120
server_port = 20000
server_type = 5

and when I try to ssh, this is what I get:

hackintosh$ tsocks ssh [redacted].com
ssh: Could not resolve hostname [redacted].com: nodename nor servname
provided, or not known

and on the iphone app, "Unsupported SOCKS prot..." appears in the
"status" field.

am I missing something?

version details:
* OS X 10.6.4
* (not sure how to check which version of iphone-socks-proxy I'm
running... I installed it maybe 2 months ago)
* tsocks 1.8.4 (via macports)

thanks,
jason pepas

Many parts are not implemented (yet)
My guess is that your ssh also performs DNS query which uses UDP which
is not implemented
Maybe ssh with an IP address will work (not sure)
You are welcomed to try to add UDP support to the code (and please
send an update)
