Hello all!

I just installed the latest RC2 snapshot and when I start it on my
iPhone with 1.1.4 firmware, I just get for a few seconds a page with
lines to write on it, then it disappears and I can see only the
background desktop picture of my iPhone. The phone is *not* blocked,
since when I press the button it goes back to the Springboard icons...

Any help?

Thanks...

you're lucky: my iPhone IS blocked (I can see apple's logo on boot and
nothing else: the OS doesn't bootstrap) :-/
I've just restored it.

Only apple or Dev Team can BRICK(not block!!!) your phone. 3rd party
user mode application could not brick your phone.

As to your problems, please reference my wiki pages.

I don't think that shouting out here without seeking a solution on the
web is a good attitude/solution to your problems.

good luck.

Your problem seems to be a inconsistency problem in your SMS.db file.
I currently have no idea about the cause of the problem as iSMS is
fully using the native API to operate the SMS receiving and sending.
iSMS will never touch the DB directly except for deleting them.

Maybe other tools touched your sms.db ?

Currently, the know solution is remove your sms.db file and rerun
MobileSMS application to regenerate a new one.

Good luck.

Well, I'm actually using SMSD as default SMS application: could it be
that this app is doing something to the db file?

Would there be a way to set as default SMS app iSMS?

Well, is there any way to somehow "backup" the actual SMS.db file and
after having deleted it, recover previous SMS?

And, BTW: how do I remove the SMS.db file?

Thanks!

Sure, just enable the "Springboard Helper" in iSMS settings and set
"Default SMS App" option one.

It's possible, if you have some idea about SQL & SQLite.
First you need to find some SQLite tool to execute SQL statement on
your db file.
Then backup the broken sms.db file, let the mobileSMS to create a new
one and use the SQLite tool to import your old db file into the new db
file.

Ah, it's SQL db? Nice thing, but I don't know much about SQL
statements... But, as you tell me this SQL thing: would it also be
possible to back up my SMS on an SQL server somewhere out of my iPhone
and store SMS' there?

thanks.

after having installed iSms, my phone didn't boot again and I've to
restored it.
How can I diagnose something if my phone doesn't turn On?
Tell me which of your wiki's page can solve this.
