I am using Nusach Ashkena davening and am consistently getting the
wrong day in Sefirat HaOmer in iSiddur. If I switch to the free
Sefirat HaOmer application it shows correctly but the print isn;t so
easy to read. Since I get the correct day in the free application I
don't think tha there's anything wrong with my iPhone settings
The version of iSiddur I have is Version 3.4. AppStore tells me that
all my Apps are up to date

This is the only flaw on anotherwise FANTASTIC app for which many many
thanks

All the best
Edward

You are looking at Maariv for the next day. Maariv shows tonight's
omer. Version 3.5 will have the day's omer in Shacharis.

Oh dear now I'm really confused. What time does the count shown in
ma'ariv change. Midnight? Some other time? How do we know what time
the count changes.
Am I OK if I daven before midnight but I get the next day's ma'ariv if
I daven after midnight?

Maariv changes, I think, at 3am. I think.

I believe the omer count is changing at midnight. You probably want to
change it to 7 am - by then it is certainly too late to say maariv for
the night before

Yes it does change at midnight -- I changed the time on my iPhone to
11.59pm and checked the sefira either side of midnight.
If it were my decision I would have it change in the early afternoon
rather than at 7am so that those who remember during the day that they
omitted to count at the previous ma'ariv can find the count where they
would expect to - in ma'ariv - rather than looking for it in shacharit

The standalone free sefirat haomer app does not change at midnight. I
have not been able to work out when it changes

3.5 is now available for download. It has the omer in Shacharis,
after Alinu.

You are right, Maariv changes at midnight.

I believe the omer app changes at 3pm.

Couple of changes I recommend for sefira in edot mizrach:
1. Lamnatzeach should be before ana bekoach not after
2. Sefira should come before shir lamaalot not after alenu

Other than that it keeps getting better - thanks for making a great
Siddur and a great application
Thanks Victor

here too, there are different minhagim. Some say sefirat haomer before
shir lamaalot, others right before aleinu leshabeach (afer barechu)
and others say it right after aleinu leshabeach. We could give some
possibilities, though, but it will never end :)

You're welcome. Also, i must congratulate you for your attitude.
Again, if you want people to be nice to you, you should be nice to
them, it's your best chance.
I guess this change will be implemented in the next-coming update.

We'll see how the Rusty people "react" on this one, it's their call,
i'm just helping them a bit out :)

You're very welcome. It's really a huge amount of work, and i still
got a lot to do. I do this with a real pleasure, my sole reward is to
help nice people out.

Thanks for your positive feedback.
