If I want my stuff to to have permanent hosted, as far as I understood, I have to pin the files and keep my node always running, or use a third party solution such as filecoin. But I would like to put my files on Amazon S3 (or on any other cheap storage). Is that possible ? It got mentioned somewhere (maybe one of the talk ?), but I did not find any info in docs. If this is not possible, is it o the roadmap ? If not, what are the problems ?

Hey Roberto,

We've got a branch of IPFS under dev that uses S3 as a datastore for an ipfs node. It's exactly what you're looking for. It will land with version 0.4.0.

Cheers,
Juan

hi Juan, has this been implemented in 0.4.0, and how do we utilize the S3 datastore for an ipfs node?
thanks, Benton

Does anyone know if this functionality made it in the current version, and how to use it?
