The Annual Convocation held at the Royal Overseas League, London on Saturday 20 September was a big success with a record number of IPFM members and IUBS graduates receiving certificates. This was despite the large number of potential attendees who did not get their visas in time or who had their applications for visas rejected.
Many of those attending were those whose visas were rejected last year but who appealed against the decision. If you wish to attend next year, you should be appealing now against any rejections this year.
Some students apply each year and they are rejected each year. If you do not appeal then you may never be accepted. If the Home Office knows that you each year you placidly accept rejection then there is no reason why it should suddenly accept you.
As far as we know, everyone has the right to appeal and the procedures should be made clear to you at the time of rejection. The appeal procedure is very straightforward and there are no costs involved.
When the appeal reaches UK, you are automatically represented by an independent official body at no cost. Overall, the judges tend to favour the applicant because usually the Home Office is not able to put forward a good case for their rejection.
