University Parking and Transportation has installed several bicycle repair stations and air pumps on the main campus. These stations and pumps are free to use and provide tools necessary to perform basic repairs and maintenance; from changing a flat tire to adjusting brakes. For help with repairs use the Quick Read (QR) code on the front of the Repair Station to view detailed instructions on your smart phone. Andy summed it up quite well, mechanics (A&P's and A&P's with IA's) can do everything except for Major Repairs and Major Alterations to Propellers and any form of Repair or Alteration to Instruments. Only a authorized Repairman at a Licensed Repair station can do the latter.
There are differences in documentation too. Primarily a Repair station doesn't need to put the details of work done in your log books but can reference their work order for the details unlike a mechanic, plus the repair station has to maintain those records for a period of time.
With respect to mechanics, the IA adds the the privileges for performing an Annual inspection and for returning to service a Major Repair or Major Alteration. An A&P can do the actual major alteration or major repair but its takes a IA to sign it off on a 337. Plus the IA can not delegate or supervise the Annual Inspection- the inspection must be done by the IA and not just supervised. Yet the A&P can complete and return to service a 100 hr inspection for those fly for hire ops requiring it. At a repair station, though, a licensed repairman many be performing annual inspections that do not have IA's following the documented procedures of the Repair Station.
The Fixit Plus includes all the tools necessary to perform basic bike repairs and maintenance, from changing a flat to adjusting brakes and derailleurs. The special, Dero-designed tools are securely attached to the stand with stainless steel cables and tamper-proof fasteners. Hanging the bike from the hanger arms allows the pedals and wheels to spin freely while making adjustments. Add a second set of hanger arms for double sided access to the tools!
Air Pump: When your tire pressure gets low, stop by a repair station to add air to your tires to prevent flat tires and keep them running smoothly. The recommended tire pressure for your bicycle should be written on the sidewall of the tire.

With your donation, Park District staff can order and install a repair station with a commemorative decal. The decals are six inches by seven inches and can be printed with text or a logo. The decals are placed on the front of the repair station.
You have the option of donating a new repair station or refurbishing an available repair station for either a three- or six-year term. See all available bike repair station locations. Three Rivers staff are happy to work with you to find the best available location.
If your bike needs a little work while you're on the trails, visit one of the free bike repair stations on the Greenline and in the Park! Five bike repair stations are available that include all the tools you will need to keep cruising, including an air pump.
The Repair Station is a deployable Tech Structure that can be built at a Forward Operating Base. Repair Stations can also be found at every main base with an unlimited amount of supply. When a vehicle parks near a Repair Station it will begin to repair its health at the cost of construction points and resupply its ammo at the expense of ammo points. Vehicles can be partially repaired with the Repair toolbox but will need to park near a Repair Station in order to be fully repaired and rearmed. Repair stations have a audible generator sound that plays on loop when close enough.
One Repair Station can be built at each Forward Operating Base. Repair stations are considered a Tech Structure and cost 500 construction points to built, except for the Insurgents which cost 300 construction points. See the Deployables page for more information. Repairing vehicles and resupplying their ammunition can quickly add up, and therefore Forward Operating Bases will need to be well supplied to keep up with the costs. See below for each vehicle's weapon respective Rearm costs. If the construction or ammo points at a Forward Operating Base are depleted, repairs and/or resupply will cease. The Forward Operating Base will need to be resupplied or the vehicle will need to drive back to the Main Base in order to repair and rearm. See the Logistic System for more information.
During the breaks, I enter the information I gathered while running the artwork into a larger database. Answering all of the questions can help Metropolis II technicians troubleshoot the incident. Was it the car that was faulty? Perhaps it was the car behind it that was the culprit! Maybe the car track is getting a little worn out and needs to be inspected. The more information the other technicians and I can provide, the easier it is for us to know where an adjustment can be made. With the accumulation of information we can start to see patterns in the performance of the sculpture. Sometimes it is the car that can be repaired and other times it is a specific section of the car track that needs attention.
