Information for authors of submitted full papers for
Symposium on Inverse Problems, Design and Optimization
Miami Beach, Florida , April 16-18, 2007
PAPER PRESENTATION INSTRUCTIONS
Each contributed paper has a 20 minutes slot (approximately 16 minutes for presentation plus about 3 minutes for questions and answers).
Each Invited Keynote Lecture has about 30 minutes for presentation and about 8 minutes for questions and answers.
There will be no blackboard or a large paper panel for hand writing and sketching.
There will be no overhead projectors that work with plastic foils.
There will be no classical slide projectors.
But, each conference room will have one laptop computer (a notebook) which will be connected to a high intensity projector via a standard cable with RS232 connectors. Each of these laptop computers run Windows and have three USB ports, an optical mouse, and a CD/DVD drive (no floppy disk drives).
Thus, please prepare your presentation as a PowerPoint file or a .pdf file and bring it on a memory stick (flash memory) plus a copy on a CD. Before the session starts or during the reception on Sunday evening, copy your file on the laptop computer to check that everything functions properly. If you feel more comfortable with your own laptop computer, bring it with you and connect it to the projector before your presentation to make sure that everything works properly.
HOTEL RESERVATIONS
If you have not reserved your room in the conference hotel, please do that immediately. The hotel will hold a block of rooms for IPDO attendees hopefully one more week. After that, the cost of rooms will go up. Please go to IPDO-2007 website ( http://ipdo.freeshell.org/ipdo2007/index.htm) and reserve a room as soon as possible. If you can, try to arrive on Saturday or earlier. We might organize a trip to the edge of Everglades National Park (a huge swamp west of Miami) where you can go on a memorable airboat ride, a nature tour and watch alligator wrestling.
