Happy New Year, All!
I hope this finds you well and ready to dive into our next course: Next Steps into Church History - The Story of the Church from the 17th to the 21st Century. Our aim is to create the context thru which we can understand American
Christianity today - how we got here and how to seek God's direction for the years to come.
We begin THIS Sunday, January 8th at our usual 9:00AM in the Jack Davis room with a focus on the reformation in England, Scotland and Geneva, particularly how Calvin became and -ism and the foundations of the Presbyterian form of government and theology.
It's a short course, only 5-week, so we'll hit the ground running. If you haven't already heard last year's course introducing early and medieval church history, that would be great background to have (just click here and scroll down within that top audio player).
The suggested textbook for this course is the same one we used last year: Turning Points, by Mark Noll.
If you have any questions, let me know. Otherwise, I'll see you at 9:00 Sunday!
