Call For Papers
The organisers of the Workshop on the International Planning Competition seek submissions.
The International Planning Competition (IPC) is held every two or three years within the International Conference on Planning and Scheduling (ICAPS). The IPC has become a reference source for developing planning techniques as well as advancing planning models and languages, benchmark problems, planning engines, and evaluation metrics. Currently the IPC comprises three parts: (1) The deterministic part for the evaluation of domain-independent planners in deterministic and fully observable environments. This part has been the main focus of the IPC over the years; (2) The learning part, for planners able to learn and exploit domain-specific knowledge in deterministic planning, and (3) the uncertainty part for domain-independent planners able to plan under uncertainty.
Similar to the lineage of IPC workshops organised at ICAPS 2003, 2007, and 2012, this workshop aims to review the current status of the IPC and provide a venue for discussing aspects that will be helpful for preparing forthcoming competitions. Topics include, but need not be limited to:
Past, present and future of the IPC
Proposing new and/or revising the current tracks
Domain Definition Languages (benefits and limitations)
challenging domains for heuristic search planning
Benchmark Domains
Benchmark Problem generation and selection
Evaluation Metrics
Results (interpretation, informativeness)

Paper submission is in PDF only. Please format submissions in AAAI style (see instructions at
http://www.aaai.org/Publications/Author/author.php) Final papers will be in the same format, keep them to at most 8+1 pages long (meaning 8 pages plus 1 extra page containing only references). We also welcome the submission of short position papers (at most 4+1 pages long).
