View this email in your browser   6 September 2016   EM/2017/27                                                                                                              Dear Friends of IPBES,   I am very pleased to invite you, and any of your delegates who may be attending the 13th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP13), in Ordos, China, to join us for an important IPBES side event, from 13:15 on Thursday, 7 September 2017.     In addition to the progress briefing by the two co-chairs of the IPBES assessment of land degradation and restoration, the side event will be addressed by, among others, the Deputy Executive Secretary of UNCCD and François Guerquin, the new Head of Science & Policy at the Ramsar Convention secretariat.   Please feel free to circulate this invitation to anyone who may be interested in attending.
