Hi Gil I shared the flyer at the IPAN conference and announced what we were asking people to do.
Good Margie is interested in a screening. Just peace and IPAN will support a Brisbane screening.
Thanks Annette
Thanks Margaret,
How nice to hear that you are willing to help with a screening of TWILIGHT TIME! Where are you? I can contact your local cinema and make all the arrangements as far as the film and the Cinema goes. Finding the audience is the other part which is why we need community support.
Let me know your best choice of cinema…
Cheers, Gil

Subject: TWILIGHT TIME - Des Ball, The Man Who Saved The World - Documentary screenings around Australia
Hey all,
I'd be interested in supporting this, potentially assisting organising this, in the second half of February.
Is anyone else interested in collaborating on this?
I think Gil and John would expect a film theatre.
We owe John Hughes!
Margie
Dear Friends,
I’m writing to tell you about a new film:
TWILIGHT TIME: Des Ball, The Man Who Saved the World (Dir. John Hughes/Producer Philippa Campey 89 mins)
Trailer: https://vimeo.com/965609934
Website: twilghtimethefilm.com.au
I knew Des Ball from when I made the film HOME ON THE RANGE (1982). Back then Des was a staunch believer in nuclear deterrence and while deploring the secrecy surrounding Pine Gap, he advocated its role in the early warning system. By the time of his death (2016), Des’s view of Pine Gap had changed…and so had Australia. Today, with the release of TWILIGHT TIME we have an insight into why Des’s view of Pine Gap changed and why, since his passing, Australia is heading down a very dangerous path.
I am booking an Australia-wide screening tour of TWILIGHT TIME starting in Alice Springs in November, playing the film in as many cities and communities as we can.
I’m writing to ask: Will your group help this effort by hosting an event (Screening + Q&A) in your community? I propose the period November ‘24 – April ’25 to reach audiences across Australia to see the film and discuss its implications.
The IPAN Conference in Perth 4-6 Oct. has, as its central question: ARE WE SLEEP-WALKING INTO WAR? This question is at the heart of TWILIGHT TIME.
Anticipation of the TWILIGHT TIME national screening tour would benefit from its announcement at the IPAN Conference so I encourage you to throw your hat in the ring asap! Your role would be to spread the word, help sell tickets and put forward local experts for a Q&A following each screening.
Director John Hughes and other experts appearing in the film may be able to attend as Q&A guests at your local cinema, depending on the costs involved. Once I have an idea of positive response, a donation site to cover these costs can be set up.
I’m asking for your expression of interest only at this stage.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Kind regards, Gil.
