Call to all Brisbane Peace, Social Justice Groups and Unions
On October 7th people around the world will gather on the 16th anniversary of the first US bombings of Afghanistan. Australia’s longest war but for the people of Afghanistan they have suffered war for generations now.
The Independent and Peaceful Australia Network (IPAN) made a call at the recent national conference in Melbourne for protest actions on October 7th.
This email is to invite all Brisbane groups and individuals to meet and plan a rally on Saturday October 7th We realise that the Adani Day of action events will also be held that Saturday from 2:00pm. We have planned this peace and anti-war action so that people can also attend the Adani protest afterwards
King George Square is booked for 1130-2pm
Meeting
Thursday 28th September
QCU 16 Peel St South Brisbane

At this stage the focus of Australians is on the brinkmanship occurring over North Korea- there is a strong message:
Negotiate don’t Escalate.
A draft flyer is attached- but all who attend the meeting are invited to contribute.
The ongoing wars that flow from Operation Enduring Freedom must be recognised at this rally.
We have made the starting time 6pm to facilitate people coming from work- there will be some food available- feel free to bring something along to share.
