Notice of Annual General Meeting 2017

To the representatives of all Affiliated Organisations and Associate members of IPAN

Thank you for being part of IPAN.

Our Annual General Meeting of IPAN this year will be held in Brisbane on 21st October, 2017 at  ThoughtWorks, Level 19, 127 Creek St, Brisbane at 1 pm.

The AGM commences at 1pm (Qld); 2pm (NSW, Vic, Tas); 11am (WA); 1.30pm (SA); 12.30pm (NT) for those using the teleconferencing facility from their home state).

A teleconferencing facility will be provided to enable interstate or regional Affiliates and Associates to attend the AGM without having to be physically present at the meeting place.

Details of access to the teleconferencing facility will be advised closer to the AGM date.

Each affiliated organisation is entitled to attend and, if financial for the 2017-18 year, is entitled to vote at the AGM.

Associate members, financial for the 2017-18 year,  are entitled to attend the AGM and to speak at the meeting but are not entitled to a vote.

IPAN affiliated groups in each state or territory need to determine and then nominate at the AGM, their two representatives for the incoming year .

The Agenda for the AGM is as follows:

 

1. Introductory remarks  and welcome by the Chairperson
2. Appointment of a Minutes Secretary
3. Minutes of previous AGM
4. Matters arising from the Minutes
5. Treasurer’s audited report
6. Matters arising from Treasurer’s report
7. Reports from IPAN State/Territory representatives
8. Reception of nominations for state/territory representatives for the incoming IPAN co-ordinating committee

(i)                  Motion accepting these nominations

9. Report from Co-ordinating Committee
10. General  Business

10.1     Election of Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and directors of IPAN inc.

10.2     Future activities of IPAN

10.3     Any other business

10.4     Location and approximate date of next AGM

Please advise if you will be attending the AGM in Brisbane or by teleconferencing or a rep from your organisation will be attending.

IPAN AFFILIATION FEES

Dear Affiliate or Associate,

The new financial year commenced on 1^st July, and the annual affiliation fees for each affiliated organisation and individual associate are now due for the 2017-18 year.

The fees are as follows:

Membership fee:        $20:                 Small organisation.

                                       $50                  Medium organisation

                                       $100                Large organisation

                                       $20:                 Individual Associate

Affiliated organisations are reminded that only financial members can vote at the Annual General Meeting of IPAN.

If your group/organisation joined IPAN and paid the membership fees between 1 April 2017-30 June 2017, this will cover your membership fees for the 2017-18 financial year.

Your support for the Independent and Peaceful Australia Network is much appreciated and is helping to put peace and independence issues on the public agenda. In a world with countries being devastated by war with further threats of war looming, the need for a voice for peace and an independent Australia pursuing peaceful relations, is as urgent as ever.
