According to apple's safari reference, the css property "-webkit-
background-clip" have 4 possible values: border, content, padding and
text. Among them, "border", "content" and "padding" is supported by
iPhone OS 1.0 and later, but the value "text" is supported by Safari 4
and later version, and safari reference doesn't mention iPhone OS
support it. So firstly I thought this value is only for desktop
Safari. But recently, when I view Apple's HTML 5 demo (http://
developer.apple.com/safaridemos/showcase/typography/index.html) on
iPhone/iPad, I found it seems the "-webkit-background-clip: text"
works because all apple's typography demo works fine on my device. The
problem is when I test the code from my local server, "-webkit-
background-clip: text" only works on my desktop safari, but not
functions on iPhone/iPad, even in simulator.
Really confused... Does Apple has some unpublished code for themselves
and not for developers?
