What the IPA FMT group is:

This group is designed to facilitate group discussions on IPA / FMT material, provide easy access to advice on challenging patients, seek advice on referrals and receive a steady supply of research abstracts that are seen as important to FMT. Please use this forum to network, connect, share clinical pearls, discuss the application of IPA/FMT material to clinical situations not discussed in class (such as bike fitting), assist therapists around the world on challenging patients and hopefully cultivate a community of group learning that benefits the entire group.

What the IPA FMT group isn’t:

Please protect this space for the sharing of experiences and intellectual growth of its members. This group is NOT intended for:

● Questions about courses not taken. Please DO NOT ask individuals on the group to explain information in courses that you have not taken. This forum is for the furthering of clinical reasoning and clarification of information that is presented in the IPA courses. Example: If you have not taken FMUQ please do not ask how to mobilize C1, if you have taken FMUQ please state that you took FMUQ and are still struggling on how to perform the C1 mobilization and need assistance in how to become more effective at the mobilization. However, we encourage you to share challenging patient cases even if you may not have taken the corresponding course.

● Advertisements. Please DO NOT use this forum to advertise for anything that is not officially affiliated with IPA. This forum was not developed to financially benefit the members and subject members to solicitation emails. If you are curious if an event or opportunity could be advertised, contact this Google Groups managers and request permission to post. IPA representatives may provide permission to post, or choose to have an official IPA representative post about the opportunity directly to the group. Please do not advertise things that are not IPA/FMT related. Since IPA owns and manages this forum, IPA is the only is the only entity allowed to advertise on this forum for things directly related to IPA, IPA Physio, or any other official affiliates.

● Job Postings. Please do not post job openings on this forum. Please instead post to IPA's website if you are looking to hire a CFMT. Contact IPA at info@ipafmt.com for job post guidelines and pricing. IPA will sporadically post emails to the Google Group informing the members of how to view the job postings on IPA's website. IPA reserves the right to post about job opportunities at clinics that are directly affiliated with IPA.

● Unrelated Content. This includes discussion not related to IPA FMT, the physical therapy profession, or members of the google group. However, personal stories and experiences of our members are encouraged!

Please be advised that any submissions to the Google Group that contain content not permitted will be removed. If you have any questions or concerns about a post that you would like submit, or if you feel your post has been removed unfairly, please contact us at googlegroup@theipa.co.

In addition, if you have content that you would like to share with the IPA family but it is not permitted in the Google Group, please submit to social@theipa.co for approval. While not all information is best for the Google Group, it is still important to us! We have other outlets on social media that may be a better fit.

PLEASE READ SO YOU UNDERSTAND THE SPECIFIC SETTINGS OF THIS GROUP

A few guidelines on how to utilize this Google Group:

1. Once signed up to the group you have 4 options of how to receive notices of new posts to the group. Please make sure to go onto the site and select your membership type. (Go to “my membership” on the Google Group at https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/ipa-functional-manual-therapy)

a. The most popular option is to receive an email message every time someone posts to the group. This email will show up in your inbox just like any other e-mail and you can respond to any message just like you would respond to any e-mail.

b. Another option is a daily “Abridged Email.” This will give quick snippets of all the messages posted that day to the Google Group. To read the entire message and respond you will need to click on the link “more” and respond on the site (which will automatically send the response to the entire group).

c. You can receive a “digest e-mail” which will send one large e-mail of the full transcripts of every message posted to the group that day.

d. Lastly, the least convenient and least connected option is to not receive any email updates. To get any information or participate in any of the discussions you will need to sign into the site and review what has been posted. You will not receive any notice if a post is made to the group.

2. If you would like to start a new discussion, send an email like you would any other time, but just send it to the email address (ipa-functional-manual-therapy@googlegroups.com). We recommend saving that address to your contacts so that you can easily find how to contact the group.

3. If you receive full e-mails every time a post is made the following information will apply to you and let you know how to use your email account to respond to messages without having to sign onto the Google Group site.

a. If you want to reply directly to the person who sent the message please hit “REPLY.” This message will only be seen by that individual, and therefore will not contribute to group discussions.

b. If you want to reply to the whole group (such would be necessary in a discussion on a topic that is important for the entire group to see the response) hit “REPLY ALL” when you go to respond to the message. Everyone who is subscribed to the group will see this message.

4. You can always have access to old posts by visiting the Google Group homepage and searching through the posts. This is a good way to access old abstracts which have been posted.

5. If you have any questions, please pose them to the Google Group as a whole. If you are confused about something, there is a possibility that others are confused as well and there are probably some people who will be able to help answer your questions.
