Des Moines Tech Week

I was approached by Matthew Nuzum last night asking if the Perl Mongers are doing anything for Des Moines Tech Week:

"Hey Craig, I was wondering if you guys are going to have an event during Des Moines Tech Week, which is actually a little over a week long starting October 8th with "Rise of the Rest" and ending with the I/OWA conference on Fri Oct 17th.

We're trying to get as many tech events loaded into that time frame and we'll even help you promote it! Some groups are having a regular meeting, others are joining forces with another group and co-promoting it. There should be a lot going on and hopefully we'll reach out to and engage people who don't regularly participate in tech events.

Sadly, I had not heard about this and the Perl Mongers are basically non-existent at this point.  

So, I thought I would inquire here to see if anybody had been approached as well and if there was anything the local Ruby community would want to try and do.
