Everyone,
As we discussed at our meeting this week, I think the time has come for a change in leadership of the group. I plan to step down as the organizer of the Iowa Ruby Brigade as soon as new leadership is in place, or December 31, 2014, whichever comes first.
I've really enjoyed organizing and leading the group for the past 7 years. We've had some great meetings and I've personally learned a lot from all of you. I also think a change will be good for both the group and me.
To begin planning for the transition, and to help identify and recruit one or more new leaders, I would like to invite all "Friends of the Iowa Ruby Brigade" (you know who you are) to a lunch planning meeting to discuss and plan for the future of the group.
If it works for everyone who wants to attend, let's plan to meet at noon, Monday, September 29, 2014, at Smokey Row Coffee in Des Moines. If there are conflicts with that date, I'll suggest Thursday, October 2 as an alternate date.
I want to emphasize that attending this meeting does not necessarily mean you are volunteering for anything. We want your input even if you're not ready to commit to more than just this lunch meeting for now.
Please weigh in on the meeting date and anything else by responding to this message.
Oh, and I almost forgot, but we also need a program for our October meeting. :-)
