Hi Everyone who has joined the Iowa Mentoring Partnership google group. I sent an email out to all the mentoring programs notifying them of this funding opportunity. But I figured I would send it out through this channel as well, just to show one of the ways this group could work. Unfortunately only 12 people are currently registered for this group, I'll continue and try to promote it to the mentoring programs so we can hopefully turn this into a productive email list/online group. Before and After School Grant Program
Senate File 588, along with other legislation from this past session, appropriated $900,000 for a Before/After School competitive grant program. Eligible applicants are school districts, as well as other public and private organizations. The purpose of the program is to expand the availability of before and afterschool programs, including but not limited to summer programs. The application materials for the grant program is now posted on the Iowa Department of Education’s (DE) website. Applications are due at to the DE by July 20. Awards will be announced no later than August 10.
