Hi everyone,

Please take a moment to look over this new grant program!


Before & After School Grant Program

Applications are now being taken for the Before & After School Grant
Program. $1,000,000 has been appropriated (House File 2679) for this
round of competitive grants. Eligible applicants are school
districts , as well as other public and private organizations. The
purpose of the program is to expand the availability of before and
after school programs, including but not limited to summer programs.
Grant size is limited to between $30,000 and $50,000.

An application must provide an equal match either from cash sources or
from in-kind contributions. Applications serving middle school- and
high school-age youth are eligible for funding and must demonstrate
they are serving youth as least once a week or a minimum of two hours
per week.

Application materials for the grant program are posted below.
Applications due to the Iowa Department of Education on October 10,
2008 by 4:30 p.m. Awards will be announced late November.
