What types of activities to you all do during the summer. It seems
that most mentoring programs slow down a little during the summer
since everyone is busy, is this always the case? I have a teen
focused mentoring group and it is difficult to get them all together
to do something fun. Any suggestions?

Thank you,

Well, we are really blessed with three fine camps nearby and the teens
always have a lot to do there. You can also sometimes get the high school
band to help give jazz lessons or put on a show for local teens where they
can just "Hang Out" that works well here. I always say " put them to work
without them knowing" and have some fund raisers!

Frisbee golf is an easy and affordable activity to do in the summer.
It's outdoors, in a park, and usually free to play. You could even
keep scores and establish handicaps so all skill levels can compete
with each other. It might also be a way to get them to meet on a
regular basis. If you need to find a course in your area, go to
pdga.com and click on the "course directory" button. I'd be happy to
answer any other questions.
