Third on my list of absent Manning House loves, Rev. Bob Cook. Bob has lived with us in decline for a couple of years. After he had his knee operated on, and in his efforts to recover, he suffered major setbacks. After numerous visits to local emergency rooms and ambulance rides, he was admitted to the Rehabilitation Center of Des Moines behind the Lutheran Hospital just across the river from us to recover.
It’s hard to see how Bob can recover enough to return to us at Manning House. I miss him in a big way. We go back 48 years to the beginning of the DMCW.
It is not easy to see your best friend suffer like this.
Please keep Bob in your prayers and come visit if you can ...
Bob continues to be passionate about Legacy of Light, his charity that helps to provide solar electricity in El Salvador. For the cost most of us pay each month to light our homes, you can provide one of these families with permanent solar electricity. Please give anything you can – large or small donations are welcome.
Send a check to Legacy of Light at 1317 8th Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50311 with the note For Legacy of Light if interested.
